Sophisticated ~ Moving ~ Distinctive.

Casey Horn contemporizes the two-dimensional art form of calligraphy into three-dimensional sculptures. Skillfully and brilliantly communicating the human emotion behind the ancient art form, Casey enhances his bronze creations with accents, colors and textures that outwardly express each character’s insightful meaning. With over 15 years of sculpting experience, Casey has worked on both public and private collections. His “Essential Kanji Series” has been exhibited throughout the United States and is gaining popularity and recognition, including a Best of Show Award in Salem, OR.

Sculpting Process

Casey Horn beautifully and elegantly transforms calligraphy

into contemporary sculpture. The creation of each piece requires much time, knowledge and patience as Casey carefully and artistically hand-forms sheet bronze and stainless steel. The elements are strategically positioned, balanced and welded together to become one. Metal surfaces are then refined and textured through a variety of grinding techniques. Traditional patinas are derived through the use of natural chemicals and are enriched through the application of pigments deepening the overall finish. The final work of art is both sophisticatedand simple. One-of-a-kind bronze and stainless steel sculptures, including smaller, limited editions in cast bronze, are created to meet the specific size requirements of any interior or exterior space.
